Antique French Pastoral Landscape Oil Painting
A genuine hand-painted original oil on board by Paul Welsch (1889–1954), a listed French artist born in Strasbourg and associated primarily with Paris. Welsch is a documented fine art figure whose works have appeared at auction houses including Leland Little, Clarke Auction Gallery, and European houses, and two of his etchings are held in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
The painting is signed "Welsch" in script in the lower right corner, consistent with his documented signing practice across auction records. It is executed in oil on a fabric-textured board support again matching Paul Welsch's documented small-format Masonite works. It is presented in its original ornate gilt composition frame with acanthus leaf and scroll decoration.
